Authorities say victim shot multiple times in head and chest

Philadelphia police have identified a 15-year-old boy who was found fatally shot inside a car Friday night in North Philadelphia.

Authorities say the Xavier Stern was found inside a Lincoln Town Car at around 7:20 p.m. along the 2400 block of N. Park Avenue, 6 ABC reports.

Officers who responded to the scene reported that Stern, found in the rear seat of the car, sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head and chest.

Medics pronounced the Stern dead at the scene.

According to Chief Inspector Scott Small, Stern went missing from his home in Upper Darby on Wednesday and previously lived with his family in North Philadelphia, NBC 10 reports. Stern's father was at the scene when police responded and was questioned at the Homicide Division along with the owner of the car.
