A Philadelphia Parking Authority employee was struck and killed by a fellow PPA tow truck driver in a tragic accident Wednesday, NBC10 reports.

Jeff Bayers, 60, was standing on Weccacoe Avenue just before 7 a.m. when the tow truck backed up and ran him over. Bayers, of Maple Shade, worked for the agency for 13 years. He is survived by three children, PPA officials said.

Bayers was rushed to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:48 a.m., according to officials.

No charges have been filed against the driver, who has yet to be identified. The incident remains under investigation.
