In January, Dock Street Brewery began a monthly series to donate school supplies directly to West Philadelphia Public Schools. The idea was simple: show up with something kids need for the classroom and receive a free beer.
This month's fundraiser is just in time for the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year. It will take place on Aug. 24 from 3-11 p.m.
The West Philly school that will receive supplies is the Discovery Charter School, a kindergarten through 8th-grade charter school with 800 students. The rare beer has yet to be announced.
School supplies needed range from colored pencils and folders to backpacks and hand sanitizer. Find the full list here.
