Chris Polk will be free to sign with any team.

The Eagles have a log-jam at running back heading into the 2015 season with DeMarco Murray, Ryan Mathews, and Darren Sproles all likely to have important roles in Chip Kelly's offense. That doesn't leave much room for restricted free agent Chris Polk to get on the field. According to a report by Geoff Mosher of CSN Philly, the Eagles have rescinded Polk's restricted free agent tender, making him an unrestricted free agent who can sign with any team:

Polk's RFA contract would have been worth $1.542 million.

Polk was a talented player who ran hard and had skills as a receiver. However, with bigger runners like Murray and Mathews in place, Polk's value as a change of pace from the shifty LeSean McCoy wasn't as high to the team, especially since he struggled to stay healthy.

The Eagles closed the 2014 season with 22 former Andy Reid guys on the roster. Eight are gone:

There will be more.
