Will Sam Bradford get PAID for an "OK" close to the 2015 season?

According to Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports, the Eagles have upped an existing offer to Sam Bradford, and hope to have him under contract before he's set to hit the open market in 10 days.

The Eagles upped their offer to Sam Bradford during meetings with Bradford's agent at the NFL Scouting Combine last week as a way of making a strong push to close out a multi-year deal for the quarterback before the start of free agency, sources told FOX Sports.

The terms of the offer aren't available, but sources indicated the Eagles believe it's a very strong offer for Bradford -- one that's at the top of his expected range on the open market and one that should help get him under contract before that market opens on March 9.

Tuesday marks the final day the Eagles can slap the franchise tag on Bradford, which is not expected.

Garafolo's report notes that the offer is "at the top of his expected range on the open market," but does not say what that range is.

Coming back from a pair of ACL tears, Bradford was dreadful during the first half of the 2015 season, but improved as the season progressed. A short-term, easy-to-escape deal would be ideal for the Eagles.

Bradford is likely to be better than any other quarterback on the open market or the draft in 2016, when the team is not expected to be serious competitors for the Super Bowl. However, he has not shown anything close to enough to warrant a long-term deal that would lock him in as the Eagles' quarterback for the foreseeable future.

Buckle in. The next two weeks (or until he signs a deal somewhere) are going to be all about Sam Bradford.
