Report: Police seek man in connection to brutal attempted rape of Rutgers student

Police are reportedly searching for a man they accuse of a brutal attack and attempted rape of a Rutgers student, according to NJ1015.com.

The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. on May 4 near College Avenue and Seminary Place in New Brunswick.

Michael P. Knight, 37, followed an unidentified woman on the school's campus, attacked her and dragged her to the side of a building.

The suspect attempted to rape the victim but was prevented from doing so by a group of people before fleeing the area.

Knight, 37, is facing charges of aggravated assault, attempted aggravated sexual assault, aggravated sexual contact and kidnapping.

The suspect is described as a 6-foot-2 black male with dreadlocks and a tattoo of the letter 'D' on his neck.
