Annie McCormick, a 6ABC correspondent, dismissed groping charges against her husband, Andrew Marsico, "bulls--t"
A 6ABC reporter, whose husband took a plea to misdemeanor charges of groping on Friday in order to have more serious charges dropped and avoid a trial, dismissed the charges as “bulls—t,” according to the Philadelphia Daily News.
Lobbyist and lawyer Andrew Marsico, 41, was put on five years' probation under the deal negotiated by his lawyer and the district attorney.
The alleged incident between and the woman and Marsico happened when the two were alone in his office, at Greenlee Partners, in The Bellevue, at Broad and Walnut streets. The incident happened around 10 p.m. Aug. 21, 2014.
Marsico entered no-contest pleas to three charges - recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and harassment. He declined comment before the judge.
But Marsico’s wife, correspondent Annie McCormick after the hearing said: "It's bulls--t. You have to weigh whether you're going to trial and put your lives in 12 people's hands . . . There are choices to make."
She also told the Daily News that when police went to arrest her husband, they showed up at 3 a.m. at their Center City apartment, they "did no investigation."
"He is innocent of everything," McCormick said.
Marsico was arrested a month after the incident and posted bail.
Later, in an email to the Daily News, Marsico said while he did not contest the three charges, "I am not admitting any guilt whatsoever as it relates to them."
