Reports: Officer injured after police chase in Northeast Philly

Suspect in custody after being subdued with taser

A police chase in Philadelphia ended Wednesday night after a suspect drove off from a police stop, injuring an officer, according to reports.

NBC Philadelphia reports that the incident began unfolding when police responding to a report of a stolen vehicle stopped a man in the Northeast.

The suspect drove off when police approached his car, dragging one of the officers, who was hospitalized and treated for minor injuries, according to NBC.

6ABC reports that the driver was subdued near the 1900 block of Pratt Street in the Frankford section of the city around 8:40 p.m. when police were able to pull up alongside the white Audi and hit the suspect with a taser. 

The suspect was also taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries while police continue to investigate the incident.
