Rescue Me: Elias

Our very adoptable pet of the week

Pets Rescue Me
Elias ACCT Philly/for PhillyVoice

Elias needs a furever home.

Elias is a sweet and gentle pit bull terrier who has a heart as big as his adorable head. Affectionately nicknamed “Pizza Face” due to his slightly rough-and-tumble appearance, this dog has nothing but love to give. Found tied to a pole and brought to ACCT Philly for care, Elias doesn’t let his past bring him down. He’s a happy boy who likes other dogs, running around in the sunshine and knows basic commands.

  • Specifics
  • pit bull terrier
  • 3 years old
  • male
  • not neutered yet, but he will be prior to adoption
  • medium, 40 pounds
  • seems to be housetrained

Note: You can adopt Elias or any dog over 40 pounds for free, any Monday in August, 4-7 p.m. They call it "Hot Dog Mondays." (We were supposed to tell you about Elias yesterday but we didn’t see it in our inbox. Sorry, Elias.)

ACCT Philly strives to make adopting a pet an enjoyable, stress-free process. They ask that you bring a photo ID, proof of address and, if adopting a dog, any children or resident dogs that will be living with your new family member. After filling out a short adoption application, their adoption counselors will help match you with the perfect pet.

All animals are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines and have been examined by a veterinarian. Adoption fees and specials vary month to month and can be found on the ACCT website along with adoption locations and hours.

Look, they gave us more photos of Elias:
