Rescue Me: Kenya

Our very adoptable pet of the week

Pets Cat
Kenya the cat ACCT Philly/for PhillyVoice

Look at cute little Kenya. Aw. There's another pic below.

Kenya is a lovely young girl who is understandably a little timid when first meeting new people at the shelter, but she warms up almost immediately. Within minutes, she will be giving you headbutts and purring her heart out. Unfortunately, Kenya’s previous owner could no longer afford to take care of her, but had some great things to say (like that she’s great with young children, and got along with a dog sibling).

  • Specifics
  • feline
  • domestic shorthair
  • 1-2 years old
  • spayed female
  • medium/ 7 lbs.
  • Always uses a litterbox

Kenya is chatty and active once she’s comfortable in her environment. She likes to be brushed. Kenya can’t wait to be back in a loving home where she can be her friendly, playful self again! Kenya is up to date on shots and will be spayed prior to going home.
ACCT Philly strives to make adopting a pet an enjoyable, stress-free process. They ask that you bring a photo ID, proof of address and, if adopting a dog, any children or resident dogs that will be living with your new family member. After filling out a short adoption application, their adoption counselors will help match you with the perfect pet.

All animals are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines and have been examined by a veterinarian. Adoption fees and specials vary month to month and can be found on the ACCT website along with adoption locations and hours.
