Shooting reported in shopping mall near Pittsburgh

Police were investigating a fatal shooting on Monday morning at a shopping center south of Pittsburgh, authorities said.

The shooting was reported at the Tri-County Plaza in Rostraver Township, said Chris Tantlinger, a spokesman for the Westmoreland County Department of Public Safety.

He also said the Westmoreland County Coroner had been called to the scene. Tantlinger added that he had no other details on the incident.

Local television station KDKA reported that a suspect entered Minniti Motorsports and fatally shot an employee behind the front desk. The station cited witnesses who said the owner, Joe Minniti, suffered a panic attack and was transported to Mon Valley Hospital for treatment.

Authorities identified the victim as 34-year-old David Molinari, according to local station WPXI. The station also reported the suspect was wearing a blue hoodie and remained on the loose.

None of the details provided by local television could be immediately confirmed by Reuters.
