Sixers trade three second round picks in 2018 NBA Draft, select Shake Milton

After making quite the splash in the first round (taking Mikal Bridges at No. 10 and trading him for Zhaire Smith and a future first rounder — and then drafting Landry Shamet at No. 26), the Sixers were faced with four second round picks to allocate.

Few expected the Sixers to actually use all of the picks, and they did not. Officially, Philly made Khyri Thomas from Creighton the 38th pick.

Thomas, who has long arms and knows how to shoot, was traded away to the Pistons Thursday (reportedly for a pair of second round picks). He was the defensive player of the year in the Big East two times thanks to his massive 6-foot-10 wingspan (he is just 6-foot-3).

Isaac Bonga from Germany was the Sixers selection at 39 overall — but he was sent to the Lakers after making a trade Wednesday for a future second rounder (from the Bulls) and some cash.

The Sixers made yet another trade (according to Shams Charania), this one with Dallas for the 54th overall pick. With the pick, Philly selected Shake Milton, who worked out for the Sixers and played three seasons at SMU.

With the Mustangs, Milton scored 18 points per game before missing the final 11 games of the season. He is 6-foot-5 and his long 7-foot wingspan and quickness helped him steal 1.4 balls per game.

The Mavs took Ray Spalding, a power forward from Louisville at 56 and later Kostas Antetokounmpo (the brother of the Bucks' Giannis) with the final choice of the night.
