SkyGarten bringing beer to 51st floor of Three Logan Square

Guests can expect a panoramic city view in 3,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space

As the season of warmth, pop-up events and plentiful beer enters full swing, Philadelphia residents and visitors will soon be able to relax at a beer garden with a majestic view of Center City and beyond.

Top of the Tower, located on the 51st floor of Three Logan Square, announced on Tuesday a new partnership with South Street's Brauhaus Schmitz to open up Philadelphia's highest-elevated beer garden later this spring. Set atop one of the city's tallest skyscrapers, SkyGarten will offer drinks and bites in a 3,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor space with a panoramic view of the city almost directly above Logan Circle.

To start, Brauhaus Schmitz owner Doug Hager promises to bring guests four draft lines and several canned German beers and local crafts. The first lineup will include Double Nickel Pilsner from Pennsauken's Double Nickel Brewing Co., Warsteiner Dunkel, Warstein Germany (an unfiltered Hofbrauhaus Sommerbier from Munich) and Schöfferhoffer Grapefruit Weizen from Frankfurt.

Former Vesper and Neuf bartender Jesse Cornell will serve as SkyGarten's beverage manager, and Top of the Tower operations manager Michelle Curtis will round out beverage offerings, including craft cocktails and wines by the glass. Brauhaus Executive Chef Jeremy Nolen will work with the culinary team at Top of the Tower to put together a menu.

The space is currently undergoing renovations, but SkyGarten is tentatively set to open in early June at 1717 Arch St.
