A South Philly joint for waiters, bartenders and the like will shut its doors for good at the end of this year.

Owners of the Industry Bar, located at 1401 E. Moyamensing Ave. in Pennsport, said in a Facebook post Tuesday that after 5 1/2 years, it would open for the last time on Dec. 31, a move that "breaks our hearts."

The bar and restaurant was opened in 2012 by the owners of Good Dog Bar in Center City. Good Dog recently reopened after a renovation, which was "costly," according to The Industry's post.

The owners are now focusing their attention on Good Dog's success.

"We have made some great friends during our time in Pennsport and have enjoyed being part of a caring and rapidly changing neighborhood," the post read.

"Please come and visit us before the 31st so we can say goodbye with a beer and a hug."

The Industry opened as a nod to workers in the service industry, hence the name. It featured an 18-seat bar and seating for 80 diners.
