Police: Suspect tries to steal formula, threatens employee with 'dirty needle'

Police are looking to locate the suspect they say tried to rob a ShopRite in Mayfair.

Police have released video of an unknown male they said tried to rob a ShopRite in Mayfair on Monday.

Police said the man entered the ShopRite at 6725 Frankford Ave. and took four cans of formula from the store without paying for them. 

Authorities said that when a 43-year-old male employee stopped the suspect, the offender revealed a syringe, stated “I have a dirty needle," and then dropped the items and fled on foot. He was last seen walking west through the parking lot.

Police describe the suspect as a 20-year-old white male around 6 feet tall and 170-180 pounds with a thin build. He was wearing a white tank top, black jeans, black sneakers and had a black book bag.
