Police are seeking two suspects, a man and women, both described as white, they say beat a 52-year-old man in view of a surveillance camera.

A couple are being sought by police after - seemingly without warning - they beat a man outside a Northeast Philadelphia bar on Oct. 3, officials said.

According to police, the victim needed five staples to close the wounds in his head after the assault.

On Friday, police released surveillance video from the incident, which occurred on Oct. 3 at about 7:30 p.m. outside the Benny the Bums bar at 9991 Bustleton Ave.

Police said that at that time, a 52-year-old man was standing outside the bar when was approached by a couple, a white male along with an unknown white female. According to police, the woman pointed her finger at the man, and, without hesitation, the male suspect punched him, knocking him to the ground.

The male suspect, described by police as being about 30 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and about 180 pounds, with a muscular build, can be seen punching and kicking the victim while the victim lies on the ground, officials said. At the time of the incident, police said the suspect was wearing a dark-colored T-shirt with a graphic design.

Police said after the incident, the couple fled in an unknown direction and the victim was taken to Aria Torresdale Hospital, where he received five staples on his head before he was released.

Along with the man involved in this incident, police are also hoping to locate the woman, who can be seen in the surveillance video. Law enforcement officials describe her as being a white woman with dark-colored hair, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a thin build. They said she was wearing all dark clothing at the time of the incident.
