Barricade situation in domestic dispute ends, suspect and victim at large

Officials say armed man locked ex-boyfriend in closet

Philadelphia police and a SWAT team responded to the scene of a domestic dispute Saturday afternoon in which an armed man locked his ex-boyfriend in a closet following a breakup.

Authorities say the situation stemmed from an argument between a 27-year-old man and his 23-year-old boyfriend, NBC 10 reports.

At around 2:45 p.m., after the breakup, the armed 23-year-old man reportedly went to the home of his 27-year-old ex on the 3700 block of North 16th Street.

Officials say the 27-year-old was locked inside the closet and initially could not be reached by police.

A SWAT team was sent to the scene to set up a staging area and residents on the second and third floor of the property were evacuated.

Shortly after 4 p.m., police were able to enter the home, but found neither the suspect nor the victim inside.

Both the suspect and the victim remain at large.
