Some travelers aboard historic U.S.-Cuba cruise return with suspected norovirus

14 passengers have confirmed symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea while on the ship

More than a dozen travelers abroad a historic cruise between the United States and Cuba, a first in more than 50 years, came home with a little more than they bargained for – like a case of vomiting and diarrhea.

According to CBSNews, the unpleasant symptoms, suspected to be a norovirus, were experienced by 14 (confirmed, so far) travelers aboard the Carnival Adonia, which docked back in Miami on Sunday. It had taken off from there on May 1.

Though it hasn't yet been confirmed that a norovirus is for certain the cause of the illnesses, the cruise line has confirmed that the ship is in the midst of getting a serious scrubbing, CBSNews said.
