Two children injured after crash in Northeast Philadelphia

A crash Sunday night left two children injured in Northeast Philadelphia, 6ABC reports.

The crash occurred just before 11 p.m. at Bustleton and Cheltenham avenues.

The woman driving the vehicle hit a pole, sending her 2-year-old son flying across the backseat, police said. The car seat was not buckled in properly, according to police.

The boy was taken to Saint Christopher's Hospital for Children in very critical condition. The mother and an 8-year-old, who was in the front seat, were taken to Hahnemann University Hospital.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
