At least two people were injured Thursday afternoon in a crash between a SEPTA trolley and an SUV in the Ludlow section of North Philadelphia.

According to a SEPTA spokesperson, the crash occurred around 3:20 p.m. near the intersection of Girard Avenue and 9th Street.

A Route 15 trolley heading westbound on Girard Avenue collided with the SUV on 9th Street, leaving two trolley passengers injured.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Philadelphia Police Department's AID, with assistance from SEPTA.

There was no word on whether those injured had been transported to a nearby hospital, but it is believed that the injuries are non-life-threatening. The status of those in the passenger vehicle was not immediately known.
