Richard Holmes, 23, and Stephen Kearney, 29.

Police are seeking two men for their role in a shooting of a 10-year-old girl in North Philadelphia.

Richard Holmes, 23, and Stephen Kearney, 29, have warrants out for their arrests, the Philadelphia Police Department announced Friday.

The incident occurred July 28 around 6 p.m. on the 3100 block of North Rosewood Street.

Police allege that two men were arguing with each other in the middle of the street. One of the men retrieved a handgun from a parked vehicle and fired at the other. However, the bullet struck the 10-year-old girl, who was crossing the street between the two men. A third man was also seen shooting from a second-floor window at the unarmed man.

Police did not disclose whether Holmes or Kearney fired the bullet that struck the girl.

The girl suffered a gunshot wound to her left forearm. She was transported to Temple Hospital, then transferred to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children where she was treated and released.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Northwest Detective Division at (215) 686-3353.
