Two school buses collide in Burlington County, driver seriously injured

A West Philly school bus driver allegedly got lost for hours on Wednesday during a routine drop-off.

A bus driver suffered serious injuries after crashing into a second school bus on Wednesday afternoon in Burlington County.

The crash occurred at around 3:15 p.m. on Route 130/206 southbound and Crosswicks Road in Bordentown, according to NBC 10.

Officials with the Bordentown Police Department said that one school bus was stopped at a red light in the left lane when it was rear-ended by a second school bus, causing extensive damage to the front of the striking vehicle.

68-year-old Ludmilla Larsen, the driver of the striking bus, became trapped after the crash and had to be removed by emergency crews. She was transported to Trenton's Helene Fuld Hospital with severe injuries. An aide on the bus also suffered minor injuries, while the driver of the second bus was not signifiicantly harmed.

The crash is under investigation.
