Gain free Philly museum admission at these two weekend events

Philadelphia is home to an array of art, history and cultural museums. Now, there's an opportunity to experience Philly's museum scene for free. Find out how to get free passes.

STAMP Program

The Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance’s Students at Museums in Philly(STAMP) program is hosting an event for teens on March 11 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Anyone age 14-19 can register for a STAMP pass at the event. The pass grants free admission to museums and cultural institutions in Philly. Places like the Franklin Institute, the National Constitution Center, Eastern State Penitentiary and the Penn Museum are on the pass, among others.

There will be food, games and prizes at the March 11 event for new and current STAMP members alike.

Smithsonian Museum Day Live

Saturday, March 12 is Smithsonian Museum Day. It's an annual event celebrating the Smithsonian Institution, which doesn't charge admission to any of its 19 museums. 

Anyone can request two free tickets to one participating museum in their area.

Get tickets by registering on the Smithsonian website and choosing a museum. Afterward, download the ticket.

The Philadelphia museums that usually charge admission are participating:

•Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University

•African American Museum

•Independence Seaport Museum

•Philadelphia History Museum
