WATCH: After game, Notre Dame basketball player surprised by his brother returning from Afghanistan

Notre Dame junior point guard Matt Farrell is a very good college basketball player. He’s currently averaging 13.8 points and 5.9 assists per game for the 10-2 Fighting Irish. One of those two losses was a near miss against Villanova in which Farrell finished with 18 and 6.

After No. 25 Notre Dame picked up a 77-62 win over Colgate on Monday night, a holiday greeting played on the scoreboard from Farrell’s older brother Bo, who is deployed in Afghanistan.

As a total surprise to Farrell and his family (except his grandmother, who coordinated the whole thing), Bo was actually in South Bend. And after Bo read his message on the scoreboard, he walked out onto the court and greeted his family.
