Authorities are searching for a serial burglar who gained access to nine businesses this month in Port Richmond by breaking the front windows, the Philadelphia Police Department said Wednesday.

The suspect robbed one store on Nov. 1, five on Nov. 19, and three on Nov. 21.

During all the robberies, the man smashed the front windows of the businesses with an unidentified object and went to the cash registers.

The first incident occurred around 5:35 a.m. at the B-Tan Tanning Salon located at 2601 Aramingo Avenue. The suspect was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of money.

On Nov. 19 around 6 a.m., the man struck five stores inside the Port Richmond Village shopping center. He stole a $20 bottle of conditioner from Hair Cuttery, $3 in coins from Village Laundromat and undisclosed amounts of cash from E-Z Bargains and Accent On Animals, but didn't take anything from Safe Cleaners.

Two days later, the suspect was able to obtain cash from the Artistic Nails located at 3621 Aramingo Avenue, Home Gallery Furniture located at 3583 Cedar Street and Aramingo Cleaners located at 2401 East Venango Street.

Police said the suspect was operating a light blue Chrysler Town & Country or a Dodge Caravan.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the East Detective Division at (215) 685-9854.
