The Philadelphia Police Department issued a PSA video breaking down police service areas and what they mean for the community.

The Philadelphia Police Department has quite a talented crew on its force – they’re also pretty good at their jobs.

In its latest fun and informative PSA, the department breaks down the definition and purpose of the department's police service areas, or PSAs, in an action-figure-packed production.

In the stop-motion video, viewers first learn that the city’s police force is geographically divided into 21 police districts, each led by a police captain, and then further divided into smaller subdivisions called police service areas or PSAs.

The purpose of these smaller police service areas – spoiler – is to promote the partnerships between the police department and the smaller segments within each community.

The video then explains what that means for you, SpongeBob and Superman.
