Watch: Suspect brandishes gun in convenience store robbery

The Philadelphia Police are seeking the public's assistance in tracking down this man who robbed a 7-11 at gunpoint on Oct. 7.

The Philadelphia Police are seeking help from the public in identifying a man who robbed a 7-Eleven in Elmwood at gunpoint on Oct. 7.

According to police, the crime occurred at about 12:20 a.m. when the man – described as being a black male in his mid-20s, about 5-feet 10-inches tall and with a slim build, short hair and light beard – entered a 7-Eleven at 2900 South 70th Street.

As can be seen in the video, once inside, police said the man, who wore an olive green army style jacket, dark colored pants and dark colored shoes, acted as if he were shopping until the store was nearly empty. 

He then, law enforcement officials said, approached the counter and pulled a handgun demanding money from the cash register. 

Police said that the suspect was given about $300 and a pack of cigarettes, before he fled north on 70th Street on foot. 

Also, police said that employees observed the suspect inside the store approximately 30 minutes before the robbery and had been asking about products they did not sell.
