WATCH: Suspects sought for robbery of Center City clothing retailer

Investigator's from the Philadelphia police's Central Detective Division are investigating the robbery of a Gap store in Center City, during which one of the suspects allegedly threatened to stab a store employee.

The incident took place inside the Gap at 1912 Chestnut St. at 5:46 p.m. on Dec. 26 and involved three males, police said.

The suspects allegedly were taking clothing for which they had not paid, tearing off the security tags and placing the items in shopping bags they were carrying when they entered the store, police said.

A store security guard confronted one of the suspects, and one man allegedly threatened to stab him and then fled in an unknown direction, police said.

Authorities gave the following descriptions of the three suspects. Suspect 1 is approximately 30 years old, has a medium build and light mustache and beard. He was wearing a dark colored coat, jeans and red sneakers at the time. Suspect 2 is believed to be in his late 20s. He was wearing a white skull cap, denim jacket, blue jeans and brown boots during the alleged incident. And Suspect 3 is about 20 years old, thin with a goatee. He was wearing a dark coat, blue jeans and a blue Yankees baseball hat at the time.
