Yoga is beneficial for the body and mind.

UPDATE: The March 5 "Yin and Nye" event has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 26 at 7 p.m. due to inclement weather.

Did you miss out on practicing yoga on a giant map of Philadelphia?

Well, Big Blue Marble Bookstore is hosting Pop Up Yoga Philly's next surprise session Thursday, March 26, at 7 p.m. This edition of the popular fitness event is called "Yin and Nye: An Evening of Yoga and Poetry."

Instructor Anita Brown will lead the class through poses accompanied by soft music. Also accompanying the class, however, will be the words of Naomi Shihab Nye. Nye, the award-winning Palestinian-American poet, has written novels, essays, picture books and books of poetry. Including a literary figure's works in a bookstore-set yoga class seems quite fitting, after all.

The night's relaxation session will take place in Big Blue Marble's Community Room, so space is limited. Sign up for the class now and keep an eye out for Pop Up Yoga's upcoming events.
