With a population of nearly 511,000 people, Camden County is a burgeoning community and leader in premier education. From enrichment options to excellent public and private schools, Camden County is a large part of what makes the state of New Jersey repeatedly ranked as the second best school system in the country.

Public Schools

At the core of every community are educational opportunities that support young families. Fortunately, Camden County is home to some of the best school districts in New Jersey. Haddonfield Public Schools serves over 2,500 students and 91 percent of students are proficient in math and reading. In 2012, more than 99 percent of Haddonfield Memorial High School graduates continued on to higher education opportunities, and last year Elizabeth Haddon Elementary School received a distinguished blue ribbon designation. Boasting excellent public schools such as Haddonfield Public Schools, Camden County has a lot to offer to young families. Nearby Cherry Hill also provides excellent schooling opportunities at Cherry Hill High School East and Cherry Hill High School West. Both of which are focused on small class sizes and boast a 16:1 and 14:1 student to teacher ratio respectively. Eastern Camden County Regional School District of Voorhees is another first-rate high school, and home to the 2014 Field Hockey State Champions.

Private Schools

Finding the best fit for your family is key, and Camden County is home to many private schools that offer alternatives to public schools. The Brookfield school network offers educational environments devoted to students with significant behavioral and emotional issues and provides intensive therapy to better support learning. For students with moderate to severe disabilities the Larc School offers nonprofit special education opportunities. Similarly, there are a variety of private schools that foster faith. For instance, at Camden Catholic High School, 15 students of this year’s graduating class recently signed letters of intent to play athletics at the collegiate level. Voorhees’ Kellman Brown School is a premier Jewish community day school that teaches Jewish values and also offers exceptional academic and extracurricular opportunities to help children grow.

With more than 89 private schools that serve nearly 15,000 students, Camden County offers a good fit for everyone. Right outside Camden County is one of the area’s top education destinations, Moorestown Friends School. It fosters excellent student learning for students age three through grade 12 and boasts the top SAT scores in South Jersey by a significant margin.

Enrichment

Camden County has long been home to fostering children’s enrichment and development. The Garden State Discovery Museum was voted as one of the top 50 Children’s Museums in the country by Parents magazine and has life-size exhibits that will push your child’s imagination to its limits. Likewise, the educational opportunities found in Philadelphia at the Please Touch Museum, the Franklin Institute, and more, are at your fingertips. Also in Camden County, the Adventure Aquarium is a premier educational destination for learning about marine biology and sea creatures of all kind. The fun doesn’t stop! The whole family can experience the narrative of life aboard the world’s greatest battleship at the Battleship New Jersey.

Camden County is home to some of the best educational opportunities in the country, flexible to a variety of student needs and abilities. Even outside of the classroom, Camden County is home to engaging educational development opportunities that help families of all types grow together. The students of Camden County are adequately poised to further their education at the outstanding higher education institutions in the greater Philadelphia area and beyond. Raising a family in Camden County means raising global citizens.
