Bar Amis recently opened in the Navy Yard. To celebrate, the restaurant is hosting a block party.
Vetri Family's Lo Spiedo is now Bar Amis. To celebrate the restaurant's recent opening, there will be an outdoor block party in the Navy Yard. There will be food, drink, live music and games.
Beers from Yards Brewing Co., Brooklyn Brewery and Victory Brewing Co. will be available to wash down fare from Bar Amis.
The new restaurant's menu includes a selection of toasts like fresh ricotta with fig jam, upgraded bar snacks like chicken wings with Calabrian chili, sandwiches like Sal's Old School Meatball Sandwich and plates of homemade pastas. Brad Spence is the executive chef. He is also the executive chef of Amis Trattoria.
The beverage program, led by Vetri Family beverage director Steve Wildy, features specialty cocktails like seasonal frosé and Sicilian lemonade.
"Bar Amis draws inspiration from the family-recipe driven menu of its more formal parent restaurant Amis, with newly interpreted variations on classic Roman dishes, all offered in a lively, yet laid back atmosphere," states a press release on the restaurant.
The block party is free to attend and family-friendly. Food and drink will be pay-as-you-go.
