Police say this man robbed a Rite Aid in Olney Friday night.

A man threatened a cashier's life when he robbed a Rite Aid in the Olney section of Philadelphia Friday night, according to authorities.

Police say the incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. at the pharmacy located at 5612 N. 5th St. when the suspect approached the counter and demanded the 18-year-old female employee give him money, specifically $100 bills.

The suspect was holding his hand in his jacket pocket in a way that suggested he was carrying a gun, police say. The employee told him she only had bills worth $20 and $5.

In response, the suspect allegedly said, "give it to me or I'll kill you."

The employee gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money. He fled on foot and was last seen going west on Olney Avenue near 5th Street. A video of the encounter was caught on camera, and can be viewed below:

Here's how police describe the suspect: black male wearing a two-tone gray zip-up jacket, a light gray hoodie, faded denim jeans, gloves (one gray and one dark), a black backpack, and black and white sneakers.

Anyone with information on the crime or suspect is asked to call the Northwest Detective Division at 215-686-3353/3354.
