Margaux Murphy, a Philadelphia resident and founder of The Sunday Love Project, was featured on ABC's "The Rachael Ray Show" on Dec. 21, 2016.

A Philadelphia woman has captured the heart of Rachael Ray – and now the world – through her movement to feed the city’s homeless every week of the year.

On Wednesday, Margaux Murphy, the founder of the Philadelphia nonprofit movement The Sunday Love Project, was featured on a segment of ABC’s "The Rachael Ray Show," where she shared the story of how her mission to feed the homeless came to be.

“I purchased a dozen meals and decided to hand them out to people in my neighborhood and sort of realized that there was a huge demand. So I decided to do it every week after that, and that’s how The Sunday Love project was born,” – Margaux Murphy, on "The Rachael Ray Show."

During the segment, show host and celebrity chef Rachael Ray announced a $10,000 donation for The Sunday Love Project from Peapod, an online grocery delivery service.

As Murphy explained, her weekly commitment started spontaneously two Christmases ago with the desire to deliver warm meals to some of the people in need in Philadelphia.

“I purchased a dozen meals and decided to hand them out to people in my neighborhood and sort of realized that there was a huge demand. So I decided to do it every week after that and that’s how The Sunday Love project was born,” Murphy said.

Every Sunday since then, she and volunteers go into LOVE Park to deliver meals to about 150 to 200 people at a time.

“A lot of the people that I’ve met have become family to me...I know their stories,” Murphy said on the show.
