Vans, manufacturer of skateboarding shoes and apparel, is bringing a four-day mini-festival to Philadelphia this weekend. House of Vans Philadelphia will kick off on Thursday and is free to attend with an RSVP. Thursday night both Philly's Tierra Whack and Hop Along will perform.

New fan experience at Wells Fargo Center offers Gritty makeovers

The Philadelphia Flyers have introduced a new fan experience at the Wells Fargo Center. The new Gritty C.O.M.M.A.N.D. Center, which debuts during the Flyers home opener on Oct. 9, will be where fans can get "Grittified" by professional stylists. The Gritty C.O.M.M.A.N.D. Center will be open during home games from 90 minutes prior to puck drop through the start of the third period.

Edgar Allan Poe fans invited to wacky relay race and party

The Edgar Allan Poe Raid Relay Race and Party, a new event, invites fans of "The Tell-Tale Heart" author to team up for a challenge. Teams will need to dress up as Poe (mustache required) and hand off a raven across Northern Liberties. The relay race will start at Fairmount Avenue, near the Edgar Allan Poe National Historic Site, and end at Liberty Lands Park.

Herman Rorschach inkblots featured in Drexel University exhibit

The Leonard Pearlstein Gallery at Drexel University is opening a new exhibit, "What Might This Be?," featuring inkblots by Herman Rorschach. On display will be unpublished and rarely seen Rorschach inkblots, as well as inkblots by other psychologists, reproduced in a large-scale format.
