Six packs, donuts and Korean food in Northern Liberties at 1050 N. Hancock Street.
The former Piazza at Schmidt's, once the scene of summer block parties in Northern Liberties, is on the road to reinventing itself as The Schmidt's Commons after taking on the new identity back in June.
In a changing of the guard that has seen the departure of Bar Ferdinand and the announcement of the upcoming Landmark Americana brewpub, the latest addition to the Commons is Token Grab n Go, a hybrid eatery and pit stop offering a trio of products that make a lot of sense for their cross-section of Millennial and professional clientele, especially with the addition of WeWork's new offices.
Since opening in late October, Crabby Cafe owners Tim and Jason Lu have been luring in a steady stream of customers for six-packs, donuts and Korean street food like fried wings, salads and noodle bowls.
Other menu items include milkshakes, coffee and the steamed bao pictured above.
Hours at Token aren't really set up for the wandering post-700 Club club. It's open 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m.-11 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and 8 a.m.-11 a.m. Sunday.
But for a quick stock up on beer, a morning or after work bite and a try of something new, this is going to be a nice option along 2nd Street and a draw for The Schmidt's Commons.
