Women across the globe to share stories through Facebook Live on International Women's Day

Facebook will host a 24-hour Facebook Live event for International Women’s Day.

On March 8, Facebook will celebrate International Women’s Day through its program #SheMeansBusiness. A 24-hour live broadcast will feature female entrepreneurs and female-owned businesses from across the globe.

Women in New Zealand, Brazil, Japan, Thailand, Ireland, India, Germany, South Africa, the United States and other places in the world will go live to share their stories of empowerment and inspiration. This interactive map by Facebook offers times and links to each broadcast.

Locally, Eagle Theatre in Hammonton, New Jersey, was chosen by Facebook to be featured in the 5:30-6 p.m. time slot. At that time, tune in to the live stream here.

During the South Jersey theater's Facebook Live event, there will be a panel discussion with Chhaya Rowan, board member of Eagle Theatre; Linda Cashan, owner of Casciano Coffee Bar & Sweetery and Kitchen 19; Meghan Leahy, founder and owner of Leahy Learning; and Norma Percodani, owner of Chroma Beauty Bar.

According to Facebook40 percent of business Pages on Facebook are female-owned, a number that has increased 60 percent from 2015 to 2016.
