The decision on whether to remove a patient with a traumatic brain injury from life support typically is made within 72 hours. But a new study suggests that time frame is too short. Some people taken off life support that early may be capable of varying levels of recovery. And the likelihood of being permanently comatose is low.

West Philly man charged in 2018 shooting death of 17-year-old girl

Six years after Sandrea Williams, 17, was gunned down in West Philly, 26-year-old Devin Bryant was charged in her death. Police also are seeking to arrest Salik White, 26, for his alleged involvement. Williams was fatally shot on Simpson Street on May 11, 2018.

Pedestrian fatally struck during multi-car crash on I-676

A crash involving multiple cars prompted the closure of the westbound lanes of I-676 Wednesday morning between the Broad Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway exits. The highway reopened at 6:30 a.m., but there were residual delays.
