In a diverse city like Philadelphia, citizens with vastly different backgrounds and experiences interact each and every day. But in today's chaotic world, where communities are pitted against each other and stereotypes become confounded with truth, it is increasingly important to explore and understand our neighbors’ many cultures, beliefs and lives.

Here, filmmaker and journalist Dave Angilella explores the everyday lives of a North Philadelphia Muslim family.

Miriam Abuawadeh has a laugh that can make even the most timid of strangers feel welcome. A wife and mother of four, the first thing she is when walking out of her North Philadelphia home is a Muslim. As an active member of her community, she gently guides her children’s growth and connection to their multicultural background and religion.

During a time when the Muslim identity is being challenged worldwide, Miriam invites us into her home to get to know her family.
