Lenny Dykstra: ‘93 Phillies made ‘86 Mets 'look like school children'

At least when it comes to partying, that is

Former Phillies and Mets outfielder (and convicted fraudster and car thief) Lenny Dykstra isn't shy about his partying ways during his playing days.

Yet when it comes to with which team he partied hardest, Dykstra claims its night and day. While he won a title in New York, he was the wildest in Philly.

In a reddit "Ask Me Anything" Tuesday, which Dykstra participated in partly to promote his memoir, the former ballplayer was asked to share locker room stories from the 1986 Mets team — known for hell-raising and cocaine-snorting — that won the World Series.

Dykstra sort of ignored the actual question, instead saying the real partiers were the 1993 Phillies team that won an NL Pennant:

"The 1993 Phillies made the 86 mets look like school children. That was where the real partying went down."

This actually isn't the first time Dykstra has made this claim. Last year (also while promoting his memoir), "Nails" said the '86 Mets were pretty lame:

"I didn’t even know what partying was with the Mets. That whole Mets team is made out to be some crazy, wild group, our Phillies made them look like children."

Always feels good to top the Mets, I guess?

Anyway, most of the rest of the AMA is about the male genitalia, and I would not recommend reading it at work.
