Kevin Hart teaming up with Lionsgate for major brand expansion

Video-on-demand, mobile game in the works

Kevin Hart is known as the hardest working man in showbiz, and for good reason.

The Philly actor and comedian recently starred in everything from the "Ride Along" and "Think Like a Man" films to Will Ferrell buddy comedy "Get Hard" and stand-up comedy special "Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain." When he's not starring in movies, or on the TV show "Real Husbands of Hollywood," or joining in community health events, he's on his international comedy tour (the highest grossing of all time) "Kevin Hart: What Now?," which brought a record 52,000 fans to Lincoln Financial Field in August. He also just received two series pickups from Comedy Central, which he'll star in and produce, in which he explores local comedy scenes and spotlights up-and-coming comedians.

So, it's only natural he'd add more to his already impressive resume, right?

Lionsgate announced March 31 that it will be teaming up with Hart's own Hartbeat Digital for an extensive partnership. Together they'll be launching a new video-on-demand service called Laugh Out Loud and creating a social adventure mobile tablet game.

Laugh Out Loud will play home to all of Hart's content outside of theatrical releases and live touring activities, which will feature original series starring Hart including a hidden camera show in which he pretends to be a Lyft driver. The platform will also include original content from big name social media celebrities like comedian Logan Paul.

Lionsgate describes the mobile game, which will be created with developer Fifth Journey, as one where "Players become comedic rock stars with Hart as their mentor, embarking on adventures that include touring the country, starring in movies, hosting award shows and more. Game choices, minigames and features will incorporate Hart's trademark humor and emphasize positivity." Frankly, it sounds a lot like Kim Kardashian's incredibly successful mobile game "Kim Kardashian: Hollywood," which bodes well for Hart.

Kevin Hart posted about his excitement at today's announcement on Facebook.
