For the fourth year, Lucky's Last Chance in Manayunk will host the Great Wiener Dog Race as a fundraiser for Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).
Owners of dachshunds and mixed dachshund breeds can register their pets to compete in the race, which will take place on Wednesday, July 26. Even if your pup is less into running and more into playing, it's all in good fun.
Spectators can do their part for PAWS by eating hot dogs and drinking beer. Yes, really.
Lucky's Last Chance will be donating $1 from every hot dog sold through July to PAWS and 100 percent of the sales from Neshaminy Creek Brewing beers on race day will go to the organization.
Gift bags and goodies for people and pets will also be handed out at the event, and adoptable dogs will be there, too.
