Pennsylvania nurse charged with fondling patient's breasts

A Lehigh Valley nurse is accused of sexually assaulting a female patient after she underwent a procedure.

Prosecutors said Wednesday that John Spanogle, 30, has been charged with indecent assault in the Dec. 14 incident that occurred at the internal radiology department of St. Luke’s University Hospital in Bethlehem.

Spanogle made inappropriate comments to the victim after she had the procedure performed at the department, according to the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office.

While transporting the victim back to her room, Spanogle allegedly continued to make sexual comments to the victim.

Once back in her room, Spanogle fondled the victim's breasts and exposed himself to her, prosecutors said.

The victim reported the incident to detectives. District Attorney Jim Martin said the hospital's security personnel and administration were cooperative in the investigation.
