Police confirmed Monday that a body found floating in a North Wildwood inlet Saturday was a 16-year-old boy who had gone missing a few days earlier.
The North Wildwood Police Department found the body, which matched the description of a Lansdale, Montgomery County, teen who was reported missing on June 30. The boy had last been seen at the home where his family was staying on the 500 block of Second Avenue.
Authorities discussed the details of the boy's disappearance with family members and determined that it may be connected to a swimmer who was calling for help in the Hereford Inlet the same day the boy went missing.
Police gave no identification.
