Philadelphia police are seeking help identifying the gunman in an ambush shooting outside a Chinese restaurant in Southwest Philadelphia earlier this month.

On Tuesday they released footage from two surveillance videos of the attack. The first shows the suspect shooting one victim multiple times at close range. Another camera inside the restaurant recorded people inside the restaurant scrambling for cover as the gunman fired shots inside.

According to authorities, the incident took place at the Lucky Garden Chinese restaurant at 62nd Street and Elmwood Avenue on Oct. 16. (Warning: The video below is graphic.)

At approximately 11:33 p.m., the suspect approached the victim, removed his gun and fired multiple shots striking the man at close range on the 2400 block of South 62nd Street, police said.

Next, the suspect turned the corner and fired several shots into the restaurant, which was occupied by a group of customers, police said. One man inside the store also was shot.

The first victim, a 20-year-old male, was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center with wounds to his chest, abdomen, pelvis and legs. He was listed in critical condition, police said Tuesday. The second victim, also 20, later showed up at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia with a gunshot wound to his backside.

Investigators said the gunman has a full beard and was last seen wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt with a yellow logo on the front and navy blue pants with white stripes down the legs.

Anyone with information about this shooting or the suspect is urged to contact the Southwest Detective Division at 215-686-3183.
