Drexel engineering grad dies following weekend hit-and-run

Police are still searching for leads

Authorities are continuing to investigate Saturday's hit-and-run in West Philadelphia that led to the death of Jamal Morris, a 27-year-old recent Drexel University engineering graduate, Metro reports.

The incident occurred at 45th and Market streets at around 4 a.m. Saturday.

Morris died from his injuries on Monday.

Police told Metro there are no leads at this time and added that authorities are now asking the public for help. Anyone with information is asked to call 215-685-3180 or 911. Tips can also be left anonymously.

Morris' mother, Channabel Latham-Morris, told Metro her son's organs have been donated to seven individuals.

"So he is going to live on," she said.
