John DeFilippo has a history of working with young quarterbacks. Hint hint.

According to Mike Garafolo and Peter Schrager of FOX Sports, the Eagles are set to hire former Browns offensive coordinator John DeFilippo to be their quarterbacks coach.

The following means very little, as the Browns had nothing on offense, but here's where Cleveland ranked under DeFilippo in 2015:

John DeFilippo Overall Run Pass Points
 201525 22 21 30

That's actually not bad, considering the Browns' skill position players were QB Josh McCown, RB Isaiah Crowell, WRs Andrew Hawkins and Travis Benjamin, and TE Gary Barnidge.

Before his stint in Cleveland, DeFilippo had two different stints as the quarterbacks coach of the Raiders, and one with the Jets.

In his first go-round with the Raiders, DeFilippo got the only non-hideous season of Jamarcus Russell's career in 2008, when Russell threw for 13 TDs and 8 INTs.

After short tenures with the Jets and San Diego State, DeFilippo coached the Raiders again, getting a good rookie season out of Derek Carr.

DeFilippo has a lot of experience working with young quarterbacks -- He worked with Russell when he was 22, Mark Sanchez when he was 23, Carr was he was 23, and Johnny Manziel was he was 23. Sooooo... Hint hint?
