Want to eat black truffle on a cheesesteak? Now's your chance

Left: Jose Garces is seen during a practice cooking session for an appearance on the Food Network's "Iron Chef" in Philadelphia. Right: Pat’s King of Steaks, which sits at 9th Street and Passyunk Avenue just across the street from rival Geno’s Steaks, is open around the clock, seven days a week.

It looks like Iron Chef Jose Garces has chosen a side in the never-ending Pat's versus Geno's (versus Jim's versus Steve's...) debate -- for now, at least.

Garces will be participating in Pat's King of Steak's guest chef series March 14 to raise money for the Garces Foundation, which provides Philadelphia's immigrant community with access to health care and education services. He will head to Pat's to prepare the JG Cheesesteak, which consists of provolone fondue, To-Jo wild mushrooms, caramelized onions, black truffle, with Pat’s rib-eye and rolls, from 1-3 p.m.

Each sandwich will cost $10 with all proceeds going to the Garces Foundation. As part of the series, Pat's matches the proceeds made from guest sandwich sales. One lucky customer will get two tickets to the Garces Foundation's Think Local, Give Local Benefit, too. The event takes place March 18 at Loews Philadelphia Hotel.
