Firefighters at the home on the 5300 block of Kingsessing Avenue where the fire occurred.
The fire began around 10:30 p.m. Friday on the 5300 block of Kingsessing Avenue, and officials think the blaze was sparked by a kerosene heater the man was using to keep warm. The home did not have any working smoke detectors, according to police.
The 6 ABC report states that this is the fifth fire fatality this year.
Philly.com reports that police identified the victim as 56-year-old Eric Brockenborough.
