Old City is home to many art galleries and boutiques.
A Philadelphia man is recovering from injuries he sustained Saturday afternoon after falling through a staircase at condominium complex located in Old City.
Officials said the incident occurred Saturday evening at the complex on the 200 block of Church Street, according to NBC 10. The victim was walking in a stairwell when the foundation collapsed, briefly trapping him in the rubble.
An emergency crew was able to safely remove the victim from the stairwell with a laceration to his leg, which may also have been broken during the fall.
The victim was described as alert and conscious when he was transported to Jefferson University Hospital.
Officials from Philadelphia's Department of Licenses & Inspections were called to the complex to inspect the damage.
