Person killed after being struck by PATCO train in South Jersey

A PATCO train crosses the Benjamin Franklin Bridge from New Jersey headed to Pennsylvania.

A person was reportedly killed after being hit by a PATCO train in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

The incident occurred Saturday around 4:30 p.m. at the Woodcrest Station located at 200 Tindale Drive.

According to 6ABC, a person was struck by the train and trapped underneath. The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Service was suspended on the transit line for three hours at the station. New Jersey Transit operated shuttle buses while the station was closed.

An investigation is ongoing.
